NETWORK SPINAL ANALYSIS

Network Spinal Analysis is a means of healing performed by certified chiropractors. Although not entirely embraced by traditional chiropractic medicine, it is one form of this service that uses the body’s own energy rather than traditional manipulation as a means of healing.

As with all forms of energy healing, it requires an openness to a new way of looking at healing. Although skeptical at first, I met some patients who derived great help from the treatment and soon learned that this practice went deeper than fixing a problem.

With determination, a positive attitude and an open mind you will find that there are possibilities for healing that have a great deal to offer in your search for wellness.

I once walked past a kiosk at the Canada Blooms Garden Show and saw a sign advertising Network Spinal Analysis. “What is this,” I thought. “What does my spine have to do with my gladiolas?” Little did I know then that Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) would be a significant factor in my search for wellness.

When NSA was first suggested to me by my massage therapist I did extensive research to learn what I could about this practice. Like so many other kinds of treatment, I was faced with a barrage of conflicting views on the value of NSA. However, the frustration of coping with debilitating chronic pain that mainstream medicine could not relieve, led me to take the risk.

I arrived at the NSA clinic for my initial assessment with a good measure of skepticism and many questions. It was only a matter of weeks, however, before both my husband and I notice significant changes in my ability to walk and more importantly a lessening of the persistent pain.

NSA was developed in the 1980s by Dr. Donald Epstein. His work is based on a belief in the unique role of the spine and the spinal cord to influence health and wellness. In an NSA treatment, the doctor uses soft hand movements just above the spine and sacrum to activate the energy flow. Focused breathing plays a significant role in the healing process. While I did not understand how this treatment worked, I gradually became aware that I was no longer at the mercy of my body, but that I could gain back control and use the amazing energy of my whole being to bring about positive change. My mind and my inner resources  became the foundation for healing.

It was through NSA that I became intrigued with the possibilities for healing that as yet were unexplored. My mind was opened and an attitude of determination held me in good stead.

Taking Action

You may not have access to a Network Spinal Care Doctor or you may be hesitant to go this route but you can begin to change things by exploring some key principles of this treatment. Think about the connection between your physical pain and your emotional health. Are there circumstances in your life either today or in the past that have had a deep influence on your physical health? Is there anything you can do about this?

This is where your journal can be invaluable. As you begin to examine these questions, you will find through your writing that many insights will come to help you understand what’s going on.

What do you like about yourself?
What are your strengths?
How can these gifts serve as a means to healing?

Don’t be modest! Acknowledge and celebrate your own strength and you my be surprised at how much this contributes to how you feel!

Something to Think About

Healing does not belong to any one approach, be it chiropractic, acupuncture, traditional medicine … or any other modality. Healing is simply an expression of life unfolding toward a higher order of complexity and consciousness.
