The birds have got it right. They wake up singing! They know that attitude is everything. Even on a bleak April morning such as this one with snow swirling around they sing to celebrate the miracle of spring. We look out and see bare branches and mud and moldering grass but they see the lengthening day and the flow of life-giving sap. As surely as the sunrises they know that buds are stirring, new life is hatching and summer will come, in spite of social distancing and a pandemic.
Negative Attitude Equals Negative Energy
We are told by science that everything in the universe is ultimately energy. Nicola Tesla is quoted as saying, “If you want to understand the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibrations”.
We experience the difference between negative energy and positive energy all the time. Do you hear yourself groan when dear old Aunt Ida phones to give you her latest tale of woe? On girls night out have you noticed how everyone jockeys to avoid sitting beside Lulu with her latest rant about whatever? It’s not only not fun to be in the company of someone who exudes negativity but it’s down right harmful. Energy healers know that physical pain is a direct consequence of stored negative energy. When we let negativity enter our mind, it is like a pebble dropped into the water. The ripples are far reaching.
Positive Energy is Healing
I have been studying energy healing for some time now. One thing that comes through loud and clear is that attitude is everything. If we are to heal not only our body but also our mind and spirit, we must choose to fill our being with positive energy. How are we to do this, we wonder? It’s not that difficult – attitude is everything!
I have found that if I adopt an “attitude is everything” mind set, in the midst, and most especially in the midst, of a crisis, people around me respond. The vibes change.
I work at staying away from negative energy that burbles up from a negative attitude. I just have to look at the twisted mouth and demonic eyes delivering the latest update from the United States and my whole being plummets. Even when the mouth is saying positive things, the negative energy is there.
With a click I can remove this one source of darkness. Some are no so easily removed. If we protect ourselves by intentionally cultivating positive energy we not only help ourselves, but those with whom we come in contact. We fear contagion at the moment, but let’s remember that joy, laughter, and hope are also contagious and let’s infect others with our brand of energy.
An ”attitude is everything” approach to life doesn’t mean we are delusional, although that may help, or a phony Pollyanna. We know we are on a precipice. We are well aware of the consequences of not abiding by the strictures being placed on us, but we do have the collective power to use this opportunity to bring about beautiful change that will not only improve the quality of our lives, but of all humanity.
Something to Think About
One very positive development of this crisis is the number of friends who have taken to posting humorous pieces.
From a list one friend sent me:
- I need to practice social distancing from my refrigerator.
- Homeschooling is going fine. 2 students got suspended for fighting and 1 teacher got fired for drinking on the job.
- Day 6 of homeschooling: I hope I don’t have the same teacher next year!!!
- I am so excited. It’s time to take out the garbage. What shall I wear?
- This morning I saw my neighbor talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought the cat could understand her. I went inside and told my dog – we had a good laugh.
- Hello? This is your cleaning lady. I’m working from home today so here’s what you do ….
Our thinking affects our attitude and actions. Cultivate a positive attitude and it will cultivate positive energy not only for you but for those around yo
